General housekeeping:

Birthdays

I love to celebrate birthdays. We currently have 18 kids, and one peanut allergy. We will celebrate birthdays after the lunch recess as we are eating lunch.

Our Schedule

We have library, art, and computers on Thursdays. Music is on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Gym is on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Classroom Procedures

I do a lot of hands-on, project-based, inquiry-based, and play-based learning in this classroom. I believe in short instruction time and lots of time for children to put what they have learned into practice. Because of this hands-on model, I highly recommend sending a paint shirt to school with their name. This will allow them to explore a little deeper. I also encourage students to eat and drink water throughout the day, and allow bathroom breaks whenever needed. We learn so much everyday in grade two, we need to fuel our brains. I also have flexible seating, this means kids choose where they sit all day long. If I have to give them two warnings, then I choose where they sit. We are working towards building accountability and responsibility for their own learning and education. If you ever have any questions, I welcome texts, emails, phone calls, or meetings. I hope to work with you to help make this year amazing for you and your child.
